Mentorship in Undergraduate Research training in person NCAT

Dear PreMiEr Faculty and Scholars,

Please save the date for the upcoming professional development training on “Mentorship in Undergraduate Research.”

Join us for an interactive in-person training designed for faculty, graduate students, post-docs, and staff interested in mentoring undergraduate students in research. This session will provide practical strategies for effective mentorship, fostering student engagement, and supporting academic and professional growth.

The training will be conducted by Dr. Sandra Clinton, Research Associate Professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at UNC-Charlotte. Dr. Clinton serves as the Outreach Lead for PreMiEr.

This in-person training opportunity will be offered twice:

  • Thursday, May 8th from 2PM – 5PM in person at NC A&T
  • Friday, May 9th from 9AM – 12PM in person at Duke University

This training is open to all PreMiEr affiliates with any level of mentorship experience. This training is expected of graduate students and post-docs who are working with PreMiEr REU students.
