Scholars Leadership Council

A critical component of the ERC is the Scholars Leadership Council (aka. “Student Leadership Council” or SLC). Comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and research staff from the principal partner universities, this organization represents the scholars within PreMiEr, acts as a bridge between the scholars and faculty, and provides training, networking, and social opportunities for its members. All students, postdocs, and research staff working on PreMiEr research projects are automatically considered members, and leaders are elected anually from amongst this group.

In addition to regular meetings of the SLC membership, the Chair and Co-Chair also attend and contribute to meetings of the ERC’s Executive Committee. Liaison officers for Education Workforce Development (EWD, aka. education & outreach) and Innovation Ecosystem (IE) are also invited to actively participate in leadership meetings and events of those foundations. Leaders can also selected for any unrepresented core universities as well as for post-docs/research staff and undergraduates, specifically.
