PreMiEr Harassment Policy
For PreMiEr harassment is a type of discrimination that occurs when unwelcome verbal, visual, physical, electronic, or other conduct interferes with an individual’s or group’s ability to participate in or benefit in any PreMiEr programs or activities or their terms and conditions of employment. Discrimination is when an individual or group is subjected to an adverse action based upon a characteristic. This policy prohibits discrimination, harassment, or any inappropriate behavior based on any of these protected characteristics (also known as protected status): age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, and veteran status. The policy also prohibits harassment or discrimination based on the perception of an individual’s protected characteristics, even if that perception is incorrect. Furthermore, the policy prohibits related misconduct, such as sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
There will be a no tolerance policy when it comes to any act of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior towards any participant directly or indirectly connected to PreMiEr.
If you witness any forms of harassment, discrimination, or any inappropriate behavior, please contact either of the DCI Directors, Dr. Joseph Graves or Dr. Karis Boyd-Sinkler.
