New GES Podcast: Fighting Biology with Biology, Engineering the Disaster Microbiome

The GES Center Publications podcast has released a new episode offering an overview of a recent publication by PreMiEr researchers Christopher Cummings, Kristen Landreville, and Jennifer Kuzma. The study, the first of its kind, examines public perceptions and support for using microbiome engineering to combat mold growth in disaster relief shelters. Using a nationally representative survey of 1,000 U.S. adults, researchers found that emotional and risk-related factors, as well as support for testing and survivor education, were key predictors of public acceptance. The paper was published in Environmental Systems and Decisions.
