North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University faculty earned nearly $96.2 million in research contracts and grants in fiscal year 2025, despite $24 million in federal project terminations that affected research universities nationwide. Notably, the NC Collaboratory awarded a two-year, $75,000 grant to A&T Associate Professor Liesl Jeffers-Francis to study microbial contamination in household plumbing across Greensboro and Durham, as part of the NSF-funded PreMiEr Research Center. The university’s total research funding over the past three years has reached nearly $350 million.
