MacKenzie Scott Donates Record $63 Million to NC A&T
Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has made a record $63 million donation to NC A&T, the largest single gift in the university's history, bringing her total investment in the institution to $108 million.
Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has donated $63 million to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, the largest single gift in the university’s history. The unrestricted investment, announced November 14, 2025, follows Scott’s $45 million donation to A&T in 2020, bringing her total support to $108 million. Chancellor James R. Martin II said the gift will accelerate A&T’s Preeminence 2030 strategic plan, which focuses on achieving Carnegie R1 research designation and expanding leadership in engineering, agriculture, life sciences, AI, and advanced manufacturing. A&T’s endowment is now expected to surpass $300 million.
