For many students and faculty working in PreMIEr, and especially those on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Dr. Jessica Schlueter has become a familiar face. She has not only been a collaborator on PreMiEr research projects determining optimal ways of sampling and analyzing built environment microbiomes, but has actively engaged with students at UNC Charlotte in classroom activities with PreMiEr initiatives. Her enthusiasm for being a part of PreMiEr is unmatched, and in recognition we would like to officially recognize Dr. Schlueter as a member of the ERC! Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics at UNC Charlotte, her interests are varied – while her primary research is related to plant genomics, she also holds leadership appointments in environmental monitoring, including the UNC Charlotte SARS-CoV-2 Wastewater Surveillance program and the SARS-CoV-2 Surveillance Sequencing program.
We wholeheartedly welcome Dr. Schlueter to PreMiEr. For more information, view her website here.
